The history of Charismatic Renewal Ministries, North America (CRM, NA) dates back to a prophecy received at a CRM national prayer camp in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria in 1985, where God expressly said he would shoot some members of CRM outside Nigeria as arrows of revival. At the time of the prophesy, there were no indications of any member planning to leave the country but, approximately 2 years after that prophesy and true to prophesy, God began to send members of CRM to various countries of the world. Dr. Ezekwenna and his family relocated to France for further studies in 1987 and in the 90s other brethren started arriving the United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK), Europe and Canada for studies or to join their spouses.

In 1994, Dr. Peter Ezekwenna who had relocated from France to the USA and some of these brethren started meeting monthly over the phone for prayers. In 1997 the first missions conference was held in Rolla, Missouri, hosted by Dr. Peter and his wife Amaka Ezekwenna, and attended by brethren in the US and UK. During that meeting the first national conference of CRM USA was scheduled for August 1998 to be held in Maryland, USA.

It was during the national conference in Maryland that the first CRM NA Core-Croup was constituted and headed by Pastor Chris Akpama. The Lord also spoke to the team at the same conference to cluster together. In response to that message from the Lord, the Ezekwenna and the Edoga family relocated from Missouri to Maryland. Subsequent national conferences became a bi-annual event and the 2002 national conference birthed the first formal CRM NA church center: “God is Love” in MD USA. The ministry has continued to grow since then and currently has 6 church centers in the USA, in MD, CT, WA, VA, TX, and RI, and 2 church centers in Toronto and Ottawa, Canada.

A defining point in the history of CRM NA occurred during a Core-Group pre-national conference prayer retreat in Virginia when God spoke expressly and clearly to the leadership and gave direction on how to articulate the vision and mission of CRM, NA. In the message, the Lord reminded the leaders that CRM, NA was part of the fulfillment of the prophesy of 1985 and reiterated that CRM, NA members are as “arrows of revival”; this confirmation gave articulation to the vision of CRM NA. He expounded that our mission is to establish revival centers that would bring “divine solutions to human problems.” CRM, NA is giving expression to that mandate through establishing Church centers in every location, vibrant youth and children groups, special outreach to the divorced, single, and widowed, faith building men’s and women’s groups and international relief missions for building and supporting missions worldwide.

We are anointed to proffer divine solutions to human problems especially in times like these. We are pleased to have you here and will be glad to hear from you concerning whatever your situation may be for our God is able to meet you at your points of need. As our world changes ever so rapidly in these days, so the world’s need for the Savior has become more crucial.
